(Day 2 – First Morning Session)
X-raying the Journey of Faith unto Salvation
Pastor Precious Gabriel
1. Christians today believe Heaven is a reward. Heaven is coming into view because something is in Heaven, but many believers do not know what is in Heaven for them. What is in Heaven for us is the Father (1 Pet. 1:4-5). People pick certain portions in Scripture and choose to believe them without finding their roots in the Scripture. The Apostles had to state the issue of salvation in the Scripture because that is the core. There is a lot that we believe that we need to question according to the Scriptures.
2. The inheritance reserved in Heaven for us is a Person, not a mansion, if it is a mansion then it is inside the Father. If the trumpet in Isaiah 58:1 means a voice and not a physical trumpet, then it certainly means the mansion cannot be the one we know it to be on Earth.
3. The salvation God has for man is one that man will come to at the end of a process. Faith is not just about being born again; a man can be born again and not hold faith. There are different kinds of faith - it is not just one faith, it means from one phase of faith to another (Rom. 1:16-17). All the apostles spoke of salvation and placed it at the end of faith (1 Pet. 1:9).
4. There are so many things about God that we do not know unless He reveals them; for instance, the creation does not know the wrath of God, even Satan does not know it but he dreads it (Rom. 1:18). One of those things that creation would not know until He reveals is salvation. There is a foundation of salvation that must be revealed because many believers do not know it yet.
5. Certain believers are still carnal (1 Cor. 3:1-2). We should not push the word ‘carnal’ to unbelievers. Another word for carnal is ‘babes in Christ’. What determines carnality is not physical age but what you have been feeding on. We have different levels of food in the Spirit: milk, meat, and strong meat (Heb. 5:14).
6. There is a faith that must be present for a category of believers to be kept for salvation. If they are not kept even when salvation comes they will not be able to receive it (1 Tim. 4:1-2). This signifies that there is a threat to faith in later times.
7. The promise God has for believers is not a promise that has to do with this world. God cannot use things that fade away as His promise. Our gift defines us; whatever we give shows our personality, therefore, there is no way God in His estate will give something to man that fades away (Gal. 6:14). He cannot want us to be born again just to be the best in this world (1 Cor. 15:19).
8. Part of the bad job that Satan has done in the Church is to present the world before God's people and make it become what the Church runs after. This was not the Gospel in the early Church. Nothing in this world can be our hope because whatever we can see is not hope (Rom. 8:24-25).
9. Meat is meant to prepare us for strong meat. The realm of salvation is the realm of strong meat where a believer’s judgment has been raised and he has been empowered to choose. The work that He desires to do is to raise a believer in judgment to be able to choose the good and not just to know the difference between good and evil (Heb. 5:14).
10. When you hear about the throne then you should know that the time is close for God to bring all His enemies under His foot (Psa. 110:1). Those things that God calls His enemies are also our enemies. There are different enemies; the last enemy that will be destroyed is death (1 Cor. 15:26). The essence of warfare is to make believers know that God has a plan to destroy death.
11. The things we do that God sees as sin are things backed up by forces. It means something is behind sin, before God can deal with death there are certain things He will deal with. One of the warfare is to bring a believer to the place where he believes sin is his enemy; sin is a king (Rom. 5:21).
12. The Holy Spirit leads us when we become born again. He will also use people who have certain growth in the Spirit to guide us. Where God is taking us to is still far.
13. Another word for righteous is ‘the just’. Those who are called righteous are those who have received the Gospel of Christ and are learning the content of that Gospel called the ‘righteousness of God that is revealed’. In every Gospel, there is a faith. The summary of the righteousness of God that is revealed is a nature that Apostle Paul described in 1 Cor. 13. Those who live by the faith that is in the doctrine of Christ are those they call the righteous, and not just anybody who is born again.
14. When a believer is born again and thinks he has known all that he needs to know, God sees it as drawing back and the drawing back is unto perdition because anywhere God is not present is perdition. Everyone must have a posture of heart that can journey. Some foundations have to be laid before the faith of the Son of God. Faith is a journey and what God wants for man is at the end of the journey. It is he who endures to the end that will be saved (Heb. 10:39).
15. The doctrine of Christ is what makes the leading of the Spirit prosper. Most believers are sensual and would not seek the face of God for everything (Rom. 8:14). Sometimes, certain steps we take can take us out of faith and even out of life physically. It is in the doctrine of Christ that a believer learns faith, hope, and charity. They are all strata of Life.
Interpretation of Tongues
“It is the deception of the enemy, it is the deception of Satan it is the deception of Satan, to alter truth. For what will save you is truth and truth alone, truth uncompromised, truth unaltered. I am giving you eyes to see, I am giving you eyes to judge that you may be able to tell lies as against truth.”
“For truth crieth, truth is crying, truth crieth on the street, truth crieth, the light is shining, the light is shining, that men may know what to choose and how to choose between righteousness and that which is not righteousness, between truth and lie. It is a warfare of the ages, it is a warfare of the truth against lie, more difficult when the lie is brought first. I give you eyes to see, I am opening eyes to see that you may know and journey, and refuse the lie and choose the truth”, saith the Spirit of the Lord.
