(Day 6 – First Morning Session)
Understanding Priesthood: The Power that Runs the Kingdom of God
Rev. Busuyi Olabode
1. The Old Testament form of worship was only a shadow and pattern of a reality in the heavenlies – a structure not made and pitched by the human hand. This means that the heavens have their own tabernacle. If the priesthood of Jesus is called a higher priesthood, it means that there are other priesthoods.
2. Nothing can be done in the earthly structure without the allowances of priests. Many of the mighty kingdoms on earth today have much influence over subordinates, and behind those kingdoms are priestly orders. The real priestly system is not visible, which is why the priesthood in the Church can easily be set aside.
3. God’s plan for Israel was that they would be a royal priesthood – their priesthood or royalty was resting on thrones (Exo. 19:5-6, Rev. 1:6). Thrones and dominions are priestly, in the natural kingdoms, the ordained priest is mostly the one who determines whether they can go to war or not; and where they should stay. This is also how spiritual dominion is, this explains why God opened again the issue of priesthood as He had in mind before the world began.
4. God gave Moses the description of the Old Testament Tabernacle from the heavenly realm. What made Moses a faithful servant was his ability to follow description. If he had missed that description, the order of worship would have been altered, because the Tabernacle of worship is not just a structure, it represents something.
5. Just as there are variations of flesh, resurrection also has grades. Our state of resurrection depends on the kind of building we have. Eternal Life also has grades, depending on the tabernacle that was constructed. All flesh is not the same; flesh are tabernacles (1 Cor. 15:39). The external tabernacle of creatures is their flesh, and they are all designed that way by God because He is mindful of what life He wants to put there. The life God wants to give us differs in grades and quality.
6. Heavens are in grades; some people will weep in heaven because they will see grades of glory that they did not attain. Status does not end on the earth; just as there are strata of status on the earth, the world to come is also stratified (everlasting and eternal life). There are realms of glories and crownings in the everlasting, but all that grade depends on the type of tabernacle.
7. The day we got born again, something happened – our sphere of world changed. We were put in Christ, and this Christ is a house, a system where we now have the right to pray to God as our Father. Before then, we were dead in our spirit, but by faith, we crossed and could have access (2 Cor. 5:17).
8. God has always wanted to move man into a place where he can become God’s tabernacle; the tabernacle that was with God in the Garden was truncated, it cannot carry God, but now in Rev. 21:3, Their agenda of making men enter into the tabernacle came to pass.
9. God’s utmost interest is for us to see the Son. In reading the book of Hebrews, we might concentrate more on objects, but that is not as much as sighting the Son. When we see the Son, we will see the way He is pitched and erected.
10. We all have been ordained to become priests, even high priests in a dimension. We are to become high priests who are ordained for glory. Jesus is not interested in being the only one ordained for glory (Heb. 2:10). If there is no service, there is no worship; if we do not attain true service, we cannot attain true worship.
11. Under the leadership of the Holy Ghost, we speak in tongues but still go the way we want to go. That is why when a man is being led, he has to be made to like the leading, if not the things in him will spring up and cause disobedience (John 2:24-25). Jesus had to lay down His will and be led to despise the shame as a righteous man.
