Eternal life is one message. We are in a time that God has ordained for salvation to be published. In the past years, salvation was always included in programs and fliers for meetings. Publishing salvation has to do with the end of times. Salvation is the summary and totality of the redemption message that Jesus brought to us. Before salvation, some things need to have gone forth.
2 Timothy 2:10 - Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
This salvation is eternal salvation or eternal glory. This is the agenda of God for the last times. God wants to wrap up things. It is not rapture that we are emphasizing; it is salvation. Rapture is not salvation; it is one of the events of the last times. It is salvation that will trigger rapture. God will not take the saints away as a way of escape; but for as an harvest. At the time of harvest, God will always set aside special skillful servants. Anybody can be used for planting but when it is time for harvest, skillful laborers are required.
Matthew 9:38 - Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
What they want to gather is eternal life. Things cannot continue the way they are now – lawlessness everywhere - yet God will not bring an end to all things without harvesting a people unto Himself. Eternal life message is God’s message for the last days. It will be impossible to publish salvation without the understanding of eternal life. We have to dig into the message of eternal life and understand it more. The High Priest is the Priest of eternal life.
Eternal life is the summary of who God is. God is eternal life. Only God has immortality. You cannot have immortality without God giving you a ladder. When He sent Christ to us, He gave us a ladder. Without Christ, there is no access to immortality.
2 Timothy 1:10 - But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:If a man can sight life, he can sight immortality. Anybody that cannot see life cannot see immortality, and he cannot be saved. Life leads us to eternal life.
Romans 2:5-7 - But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;Who will render to every man according to his deeds:To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
At the end of the day, what God will make visible is glory, honor and immortality. A person is not seeking for eternal life if he is not seeking glory, honor and immortality. The first thing you must seek for is life. Salvation is glory, honor and immortality. If it is not eternal glory and eternal honor, it cannot lead to immortality.
Revelation 1:1-2 - The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.
John is a servant of God. He is an apostle, an elder and a witness. When a man is called an elder, he has to be humble to know the type of his eldership. Miriam was a prophetess and Aaron was a high priest. Moses was a servant of God. Miriam and Aaron had been introduced to spiritual things, when they dishonored Moses, God was angry with them (Numbers 12:1-9).
When God calls a man a servant, he should inquire to know the realm of his service. John was a servant. What Paul started was what John finished. The end of Christ is the Father. John brought the revelation of the Father. The epistles of Christ finished with John. God had shown something, but there was a part He had not revealed. God was using John to reveal this part. The book of Revelation is the last book of the epistles of Christ. God supplied wisdom in the canonization of Scriptures.
A servant is in service, and he must have something to serve with. God Himself is a bread. God Himself is a service – what man will serve ultimately. We must see God as He is. It may be hard to comprehend how a man can be God, but when He is revealed, that would not need explanation.
Acts 26:22 - Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:
Paul saw Jesus on the way to Damascus; he was called on the way to Damascus. The apostles were eyewitnesses; they were able to lay down their lives for what they saw. The Son of God must not only be heard; He must be seen. Seeing is not vision; it is making Him known to the heart. It is not just what is in the head; it has to be in the heart. The way of sin was birthed in the heart; the way of life will be birthed in the heart. Satan darkened the heart of man. God wants to show the image of the Son of God in our hearts. The Son of God is not made known by vision; He is made known by revelation; and revelation takes time.
Jesus appeared to the disciples when Thomas was not there and when he was told, he doubted. Jesus was not there, but He was there because He is a spirit. Thomas was needed to confirm the truth of the resurrection.
John 20:24-28 - But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
Nobody told Thomas Jesus is God, they knew Him as Christ; how come he called Him God?
Matthew 16:16 - And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
This revelation was not for Peter. If a revelation is not revealed in you, it can be taken away. Jesus was referred to as Christ in the other Gospels; only John referred to Him as God. He wrote the gospel after seeing the glorified Christ. He was using the hour of glory to demystify Jesus of Nazareth.
They knew Him as beloved Son; they did not know Him as the Begotten Son. Among men and angels, Jesus is the only begotten Son. You would not be able to confess Jesus as the Son of God without having understanding. It is with understanding that you can stake your life for Him.
The apostles’ doctrine is centered on Jesus the Christ. They were preaching that Jesus is the promised Messiah and people were turning from sin. If we give unbelievers only miracles, they will eat it and move on. There is a way a soul is established on the truth that Jesus is the Christ and God raised Him from the dead.
You do not need to preach healing or deliverance to get people born again. It is Jesus, the Son of God that takes away sin from the human spirit and makes him live. Something greater than the whole earth, is about to hit the earth. There will be a great outpouring of the Spirit – of understanding and revelation of the message. The message will be preached and men will respond to God. The message is simple yet convicting. It addresses sin in its very nature, not its works.
When God wanted to bring Peter into a new thrust, he rejected it (Acts 10:9-16). Jesus showed Himself more to Paul. Paul not only knew about the death and resurrection of Jesus; he knew how He died. He understood that both His head and the body were nailed to the cross.
1 Corinthians 11:23-25 - For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
He was not there, but you can see from what he is saying that he was there.
Galatians 6:17 - From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.
1 Corinthians 3:10 - According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
The foundation was clearly laid, and every builder must align with it.
Revelation 1:2-3 - Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw. Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
The time to come to that fellowship is at hand.
Revelation 1:4-5 - John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, but more so, He is the faithful witness. He is not just a witness, but a faithful one.
Acts 26:16 - But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
To be a witness is to establish exactly what was given to you but that does not make you a faithful witness. To be a faithful witness means that you are an exact expression or the express image of God (Hebrews 1:3). This book is one of the last letters of Paul. A faithful witness is not just an express image; he is the template – God’s genetic code. Faithfulness is in the face of God.
Lamentations 3:22-23 - It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
The morning is the beginning or source. Faithfulness is in the morning. No matter what happens, the dayspring will never fail. The dayspring is where light oozes out from, and it is forever.
Psalms 89:1-2 - I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations. For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.
If anything is faithful, it is an entity of the very heaven. If it is faithful, it must last.
1 John 5:20 - And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
True means unchanging. The Son is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6). Initially He was not true, there is an estate He got to that He became true. Truth must move to the realm where it is true. We are to find our place in Him who is true – the resurrected Christ. When He is revealed to us as true, we will know that we are in Him who is true.
Our change is designed to bring us to a realm that is true and that realm is the true God. If it is not the true God, it is not true. We can keep saying we are changing, and the truth of our change is not known to us. Change is a must for us. The real essence of truth is to change us so that we can be true.
Titus 1:1 - Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;
If it is a truth after godliness, you will keep changing. The goal of that is for the Promise. It is a truth that keeps changing you until the Promise. The true witness is the witness of the exact – you can see cadres of His change until He became true. If it does not represent exactly, you cannot call it faithful and true.
Everything Jesus said to the churches in the book of Revelation was to show sides of Himself. The seven churches were very high churches.
Revelation 3:14 - And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
‘Amen’ means true, exact and according to pattern. He is the beginning of God’s genealogy – God can now begin to generate Himself. If Jesus is not the faithful and true witness, He cannot be the beginning of the creation of God.
Jesus had to introduce Himself to the Laodicean church this way. It was a silver church – a Christ church. They were not a worldly people; none of the seven churches was worldly. They were facing high spirits. When you see Balaam, know that the morning star is near. Nobody can save from Balaam except God. This church found a path in the spirit and followed it, and then they met a monster. Moses himself was afraid of Balaam.
The Laodicean church was a church fed with Christ, and they were proud of it. If they had finished Christ well, they would have been humbled. If you finish Christ well, you will be meek and looking for mercy. Throughout the epistles, we see admonition to walk and obey. Obedience is walking. When you finish your walk, you start to run. It means you have seen hope.
Hebrews 10:36 - For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
A man who has done faith well is to be patient with the patience of Jesus. The Laodicean church was at this point and then they became aware of their riches; this pride is deceitful – you would think you have finished when you have not. Jesus had to appear as the faithful and true witness to show them that they were actually poor (Revelation 3:17). To have Christ alone is poverty in God; Christ is to lead you to God.
Hebrews 11:6 - But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
When reward comes, you are not counting on your labor. If it is by works, it is wages and not grace.
2 Peter 1:10 - Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
There is need for diligence but it does not earn you the reward; it is to bring you to a place where you look for mercy.
Genesis 15:1,9-12 - After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.… And he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon. And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not. And when the fowls came down upon the carcases, Abram drove them away. And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.
God is his shield; yes, but he had to wait for God to receive his reward. Shield in this scripture is faith. God waited until the fowls came, Abraham was tired; it was to show Abraham that his strength was not enough. You need diligence to come to that place where you realize that your strength and diligence is not enough.
You must know that your calling is to be begotten. If you do not see the exact true estate, you would not be begotten. If you are not saved, all your labor would have been in vain.
There are phases of sonship appearance. The book of John is a book of unmasking the different phases of sonship appearance. John’s epistles are some of the most confusing books of the Bible but if we do not get it very clear, we would not know the state of sonship we are in and the next phase we should look for. Jesus was a Son, but He was asking God for glory.
John 17:4-5 - I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
John 12:28 - Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.
At Jordan, Jesus was proclaimed a Son; that is glory. At transfiguration, there was another proclamation, and then again at resurrection. These proclamations are not referring to the same Son (as in the estate of sonship Jesus attained).
There is a truth we come into that is the incorruptible truth. Truth has layers. When you see truth in scriptures, you need to ask what kind of truth it is.
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
‘Should’ is a strong word of expectation. If a man follows on, he should not perish. Judas had a portion and a bishopric (Acts 1:16-17, 20). When he was called, he was given every resource to ensure that he did not perish.
1 John 3:1-2 - Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
We are predestined by God’s predestination to be re-engineered and re-gened. This scripture is laying for us sonship levels. We should aspire for what we should become. Jesus will ever be honoured and worshipped because as a man, He attained to sonship and He did not glorify Himself as the High Priest – He waited for Him who said unto Him 'thou art my son; today have I begotten you' (Hebrews 5:5).
1 John 2:28-29 - And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.
‘As He is’ is not the same estate He showed to John (1 John 3:2). If a man is learning righteousness, he is not perfect. Righteousness is revealed to him; he is still learning so as to practice righteousness. For a man to practice righteousness, Christ must be revealed to him.
Romans 1:16 - For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Paul was not just writing a letter; he was fighting issues that were confronting his practice of righteousness. When you are learning righteousness, the world will not approve you; you may not have gain in the natural. Righteousness is not in exchange for natural goods; it is in exchange for godliness. A doer of righteousness is not perfect, though he is a son.
It is assumed in the world that when you are doing righteousness, God is with you, and this means that everything is working out fine. Sometimes, when we pray, it is not so much about the need; it is so that the mouth of people will be stopped. What we call faith practice most of the times is based on how things work. Many churches are under pressure of having results so that people will come.
1 John 3:7 - Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
A righteous man is a man living by revelation, not by what he sees. It would not be easy in the midst of conflict, but if a man can break through that and keep practicing righteousness, he is righteous. He is a son; he is a kind of a witness, but he is not yet a faithful and true witness. If they are not true, they are not in the true God, so they do not have eternal life, they are not yet sons of eternal life.
To many today, a nice man is a godly man but when it comes to staying with God’s revelation, he does not have strength for it because his configuration is being affected. God is not looking for nice men; he is looking for godly men who can hold faith. Holding faith is not by believing; it is by revelation.
The Lord can demand that you identify with the sufferings of a brother (Hebrews 10:33). It would be easier to identify with it if it is yours.
1 John 3:8-9 - He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
This is the son of God that is capable of destroying the works of the devil. This son of God is a son that is carrying God’s seed or God’s law, but he is not yet perfected. There is a point he was carrying law of Christ, and that made him free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:2). He is not free from sin and death yet, but he is free from the law of sin and death. The law is to perpetuate the existence. This son is a very high son. He already carries the seed/law of God. But he will need to use that law to abolish death. If death is not abolished, life and immortality cannot be experienced.
Hebrews 10:16-17 - This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
This means that the next discussion will not be about sin (1 John 3:9). This is a son of the perfect law of liberty. Jesus Christ came into all these spheres, yet He did not stop. He knew truth about glory. He knew judgment.
1 John 3:10-15 - In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous. Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you. We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
He is a Christian, but he is abiding in death. Brother in this scripture does not refer to just any brother in church, but a brother in Christ. The first level of brotherhood is the saints. There is a love we have for all the saints but when we start doing righteousness, we will see brethren.
Cain and Abel were not children; they were old enough to offer sacrifice. If they were children, God would not hold it against Cain. They knew what they were expected to offer; but instead of Cain to repent, he hated his brother. If you cannot love the brethren, you do not have hope. You may begin the learning of Christ together with brethren, but we will not appear in Christhood at the same time; some will appear first.
We are not to hate our brethren. To hate is to speak evil of your brother. To speak evil of your brethren is to speak evil of the law. Do not speak evil against your brother’s process; you do not understand it. The law can program abundance in the natural for you and program lack for your brother. If you speak evil of him, you have spoken evil of the law, and it is reckoned as hatred.
1 John 3:15-16 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
Laying down your life for your brethren is not in giving something to him; it is identifying with his estate. Refusing to identify with your brother’s estate is hatred.
