Excerpts

God is placing premium on growth. The whole issue of the High priest is the issue of growth – that a man will grow from being a man to become a high priest.

Hebrews 7:26 - For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

This verse gives the description of our High Priest. The High Priest became the things listed; He was not born like that; He was made. God built Him to be higher than the heavens. When He first came, He did not come higher than the heavens, but was made a little lower than the angels. He became like a man, not the fallen man, but the man of Adam’s state.

Hebrews 2:9 - But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

The plan of God was never that Adam remains a little lower than the angels; but He fell below his original estate by disobedience. Hence, he fell much more lower than the angels. Sin degenerated man so much. By God’s making, man began at being a little lower than the angels; God also made a provision for him to be higher than the angels.

Genesis 2:15-16 - And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

When God made man and put him in the garden, He permitted him to eat of the trees in the garden. The tree of life was also in the garden. In the tree of life are properties of divinity, properties of the creator, and properties of God. God’s original intention was not to make man a little lower than the angels, His intention was to make man in His image, after His likeness (Genesis 1:26), the image of God is not lower than the angels, His image is far above all angels, and this is what Jesus came to after going through the defined process.

Image and likeness are responsible for dominion but man lost the image of God, thereby making sin and death have dominion over him. This change in dominion was because of a change in man’s image (Genesis 2:17). A translation puts it as, ‘in dying you shall die’; this means that Adam would gradually die, disintegrate and diminish in value the day he ate the fruit and that was exactly what happened. Adam ate of the fruit and died, although the death did not really have expression in him because he did not really cooperate with death; he was still able to live for close to a thousand years. It took some generations after Adam before man began experiencing the death, degeneration that set in through Adam.

Romans 5:17 - For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

Death reigned means that death began to have dominion over man. This was not the man God intended to create; God’s intention was for man to have dominion (Hebrews 2:7). Man was made to have dominion, and dominion was meant to increase as a result of him partaking of the fruit of the tree of life. Dominion comes by stature. When we got born again, we did not have stature. No one got born again as matured, or spiritual or godly.

A godly man is a raising; he is a stature. He is one who has engaged the law of Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. He is one who has used truth to rise; because there is no raising without the giving of truth. God wants men to rise, and it is possible for men to rise. The ingredients for rising have been provided in the Gospel. The whole gospel is a compilation of things that will make a man rise. John, the Baptist rose, He was described as the greatest of all men born of a woman (Matthew 11:11).

In the spirit, men are not categorized by what they possess (Luke 12:15). Men are categorized according to their rising, according to their stature. Stature is very key in the spirit. God is interested in stature. Satan looks out for men who have stature. Satan is troubled when a man is rising in stature; such one is too dangerous to him. No wonder he asked for the head of John, the Baptist. John the Baptist was notable in the realm of the spirit. Satan goes after anyone who is rising in stature. He is not interested in your acquiring material things; he wants to use them to prevent you from growing. He will use everything, legitimate and illegitimate, as long as it can hinder your growth.

One help God is giving us now is to see what is needful, so we can focus on it. So many things can stop one from growing. Some ladies will not grow because they are getting older age wise and are yet to be married, they shift their focus and make getting married their preoccupation; it becomes a prayer point. Desperation might make her leave the place of growth and go for a fake brother that will take her far away from faith.

Matthew 11:7-9 - And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind? But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings' houses. But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet.

Jesus asked, ‘what went ye out into the wilderness to see?’ He asked this question to let us know what is of priority in the realm of the spirit. Babes are reeds, they do not have stature. A reed is grass, having no building/stature. All flesh is grass. Thus, a babe is like flesh; he is carnal and so can be easily shaken by the wind. Men in ‘purple/soft raiment’ refer to men of class; kings, they live in the palace, not in the wilderness. The fact that these men live in the palace does not register them in the realm of the spirit; they are not known in the spirit.

A man can be a prophet and may not have stature. One can operate in the ministry gift and yet not have stature; that is not good. John was more than a prophet because he arose; he grew in stature.

Matthew 11:11 - Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

It was Jesus who made this statement; else some theologians would have argued it otherwise. This statement implied that John the Baptist was greater than Enoch and Moses. Enoch walked with God and was not; Moses was highly esteemed in Israel, they even compared him with Jesus. To them, Jesus is not as great as Moses.

Although Moses was a man of stature, Jesus said his stature was not as high as that of John. Moses was the meekest man on earth, had direct access to God, was God’s friend. What kind of person was John the Baptist?

Jesus went further to say that the least in the Kingdom is greater that John the Baptist. That is, the least in the Kingdom is a man of stature. This means, that what determines a man in the Kingdom is stature. Men of the Kingdom are men of stature. Kingdom is about stature and growth. God is particular about growth. This was demonstrated in our Lord Jesus Christ; He grew from childhood.

Luke 2:40 - And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

As a child, He was not a high priest. Wisdom and grace are the things responsible for growth. Jesus grew in wisdom and grace.

John 1:14 - And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

To be full of grace means that grace can be measured. Although, Jesus did not start out with being full of grace, He grew in grace. Jesus was born having fullness of grace, else He would not be referred to as a child. As a child, He was not full of grace. One who is full of grace is not a child, but a man of stature. What gives stature is grace and truth.

1 Timothy 2:4 - Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

God desires that all men be saved and come to the knowledge of truth; because truth is very key to growth and stature. Jesus was full of grace and truth. What informed His stature is grace and truth. Therefore, after the New Birth experience, and the believer has been exposed to milk, the next level is growth His growth is by knowledge; because without knowledge there can be no growth.

Isaiah 28:9-10 - Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

Knowledge cannot be communicated to someone who has not been weaned from milk and drawn from the breasts. This Scripture defines the journey of growth. Growth is a gradual thing but it must be occurring. What ensures that spiritual growth occurs is the speaking of truth.

There are different kinds of growth that men undertake. Men want growth in their businesses, and so they invest time, money etc. All parents want their children to grow. A child who is not growing is a distraction to his parents, especially the mother, although this distraction may be legitimate, God does not want her to be distracted.

Your spiritual growth is the solution to a lot of issues around you. Satan can distract one from spiritual growth by the things going on around him. Some might be distracted by the issue of getting married; to another, the distraction might be getting admission into the higher institution and the race does not end at getting the admission, the pressure of graduating with a good grade also sets in, then marriage, then children and it goes on. A man can be legally distracted till he dies. The world system is arranged against the arising of man; hence we must overcome it. It is presented as something that must be pursued. There is always something to be pursued at every point of one’s life to distract one from rising.

We must see beyond the natural, which is appealing to the eyes and the soul, and abide within the confines of the grace given to us without neglecting spiritual growth. Legitimate things can distract a man from rising in spiritual growth.

1 Timothy 4:8 - For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

There is profit in spiritual growth. Godliness is stature, and it is profitable. For the sake of not being distracted, you need to submit to the grace God has allocated to you per time, so that you pursue Godliness and grow up spiritually.

2 Timothy 2:4 - No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

There are many legitimate distractions around that constitutes obstacles in a believers’ growth process. Even some pastors preach these legitimate things that can stunt spiritual growth; instead of preaching that saints should seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Seeking the kingdom of God is seeking growth.

Stature and the Kingdom cannot be separated. Kingdom men are men of stature. Jesus reckoned that John, the Baptist was greater than Elijah (Matthew 11:11). Elijah went to heaven with chariots of fire; he called down fire from heaven. Those demonstrations are what men look for.

John did not perform one miracle; yet he was termed greater. This must sink in our hearts, to know what heaven counts as important. A man is not great because he is able to call down fire from heaven. In fact, someone who is able to refrain from anger is more respected in the Kingdom (Luke 9:54-55).

After the born-again believer has profited well with milk, he is introduced to another allocation for growth - knowledge. The reason for knowledge is to acquire stature. The five-fold ministry is equipped with the grace to get knowledge for the Church. The Church will never be built without knowledge. John had a kind of knowledge that built him; he had his own doctrine (teachings). His disciples were strong in the Scriptures.

John did not arise because he wore camel’s hair and ate locust and wild honey. One can do that yet if he does not have doctrine, there will be no rising. There can be no rising without teaching/doctrine. There can be no rising without truth.

If you allow yourself to follow the trend that satan built, you will spend all your life on mundane things; you will not grow and you will remain grass (1 Peter 1:24). ‘Grass’ can spend all his life trying to produce ‘flowers’, forgetting that it will fall off in a short while. Achievements on earth are not wrong in themselves but are preoccupation of a grass to produce flowers. Grasses always wither. A tree will not wither easily because it has stature. It has deep roots downwards and growth upwards. Some trees have outlived many men; but grasses are always cut, weeded or burnt every now and then.

The concept of the High priest is all about growth; a man growing from being carnal and natural into spiritual and eternal. Growing from the stature that is ‘lower than the angels’ to one ‘higher than the heavens’. It is a matter of growth.

Ephesians 4:11-12 - And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

To edify is to build up. God did not give the Church professionals; when such come to the Church, they are supposed to come to learn. A professional can be a grass  - professional grass and only grasses in church will be fooled by the glory of grass.

The glory of grass should not move you as a sister. Haircut and material possessions can change with time. It is more valuable to have stature than to possess material things. Stature on the inside can produce anything.

Prospects in terms of who a woman should marry should not be defined by material things. If a sister marries based on material possessions, she will be living with grass. The man will not have stature to refrain himself from sin. Not all that glitters is gold. Get a spouse who is golden. A golden spouse is one who is committed to arising. His heart is set on arising; all his life is committed to arising beyond the earth.

Some things are needed for rising. The most important thing for the church is for her to grow in stature, it is for this reason God gave gifts to the Church (Ephesians 4:11). Growth is for all. The aim of giving these gifts to the Church is that we would all come to the unity of the faith etc. (Ephesians 4:13).

‘All’ includes everyone, including sisters. Many sisters are not given to spiritual things; they prefer to keep the home. It is not wrong to keep the home and cook, but it must not to be the preoccupation of your heart. Your commitment first and foremost as a sister must be to grow. For you to grow, you must commit yourself to things that make for growth. Everyone must be committed to getting knowledge. It is possible for a woman to be caught in the hustle of home keeping and mothering, but growth is every woman’s portion. Every woman is required to grow.

Another end-product of the five-fold ministry is to bring the Church till we all come to the knowledge of the Son of God (Ephesians 4:13). The Son of God is the High priest; everyone is called to know the high priest. To know the High priest is to know what configured and raised the High priest. The High priest was raised with substances. The Old Testament priests were raised by the law of carnal commandment and hence they could not overcome death (Hebrews 7:16). But the Son of God was made by the power of an endless life, and this power can be learnt.

To know the High priest is to know the secret of the power of an endless life that raised Him. Jesus was made by so much (Hebrews 7:22). The ministry gifts were given so that we can know the ‘so much’ that made Him.

Jesus obeyed the things that made Him (Hebrews 5:8). The High Priest was not given to frivolity while He lived on earth; He had one passion – to do the will of God (John 4:34) and becoming a High Priest was the end of the will He did.  He became holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners and higher than the heavens, and this is also our predestination (Hebrews 7:26). All that He became is the image of God which God has destined for man.

To become a high priest, you must be taught these things – how to be harmless, holy etc. Holiness entails a lot of learning. Holiness is separation unto God at different levels. Obedience to righteousness is done unto holiness (Romans 6:19). You cannot obey righteousness until you have learnt it. Righteousness is revealed from faith to faith (Romans 1:17).

There are levels of righteousness and holiness, which the High Priest attained. The Lord saw all the levels of consecration and obeyed them. What is most important in God’s heart for you is that you should grow. Hence, He has made available the ministry gifts to accomplish this.

Ephesians 4:13-14 - Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

God wants us to come to the knowledge of the Son of God. The Son of God is the High Priest, and He can be learnt. The essence of learning Him is so we can learn what made Him. The High Priest is a raising and things are responsible for raising Him. You cannot learn the High priest if you have not learnt Christ; you cannot even see Him (Matthew 5:8).

To see God is not just to have a vision of Him, but to understand God. It takes a pure heart to see God, that is, to comprehend Him, to comprehend the judgments that made Him God. There are judgements/thoughts that make up God. When those thoughts are exposed to you, you begin to reason like God.

The thoughts of God come by exposure to His knowledge. To know God is to know His ways. Any man who claims to know God must show it by his ways, and manner of life. God’s ways are not the same as ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). An ordinary man (i.e. grass) cannot comprehend those thoughts at the height in which they are. Yet God wants us to know these thoughts and more so to possess them, that they become our thoughts.

Your thought shows who you are (Proverbs 23:7). You are ruled and controlled by your thoughts. Your actions are a reflection of your thoughts. A man is made up of thoughts. When they want to change the makeup of a man, they change his thoughts. They make you access a higher level of thought, first by giving you the thoughts of Christ until you begin to think like Christ, which then influences your actions, like those of Christ.

A perfect man is the stature of Christ (Ephesians 4:13). A perfect man is a godly man; he is a spiritual man. He will keep learning until he attains the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. Therefore, there is Christ in a measure and there is the fullness of Christ. The fullness of Christ is the stature of the High Priest, which is the stature of the Son of God.

The business of an apostolic church is to raise men that will defeat death; men who will be higher than the heavens and made so much better than the angels. To achieve this, there is kind of meal the saints in such an assemble must be fed with. If that is your goal, then your feeding must change; your feeding must be streamlined. Nothing but the truth must be your meal.

Motivational speeches do not give nourishment. They do not provide the nourishment necessary for the man that wants to grow out of flesh. Whatever you feed your soul with must bring change to you; if it does not change the state of your soul, nor adds stature to you nor gives you life, it is not your food. Our food is stated clearly in Ephesians 4:15.

Ephesians 4:15 - But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

We are growing up to the Head – Christ. This Christ is the full Christ, the glorified Christ; that is the High Priest (Romans 8:29). The fullness of Christ is the Son of God (Ephesians 4:13). The Son of God is the measurement for your growth. You are to grow up from the earth, i.e. arise beyond it. You are to grow beyond the level of John the Baptist. We would not have known the extent of the growth of John unless Jesus had done that comparison between him and other men who lived.

The Hebrew boys in the book of Daniel did exploits. They were thrown in fire and were not consumed; Daniel was thrown into a den of lions and was not hurt; these were exploits but our Testament is better than theirs. The beauty and strength of a Testament is not measured by external exploits or achievements. The strength of a Testament is rated by its ability to raise a man higher than the heavens and make him man better than angels.

John, the Baptist who was termed better than Elijah and Enoch who did not see death, was beheaded at 33. Joseph had wisdom and knew secrets, he was known as a man who had the Spirit of God in him. Daniel also had grace to interpret mysteries; but John did not interpret any mystery, rather had his head cut off as a gift for a little girl. Though he did no external exploits and had no external stature; Jesus who knows true stature regarded him as the most arisen of all born of women. Only Adam was not greater than John.

Adam did not arise like John did, he was created so with the stature he had. Adam did nothing to be who he was but was made so just like the angels. But for John, he was given properties that raised him into a stature that was higher than all men born of women. John cooperated with things that made him arise; he did not give in to distractions. He had the same distractions that we have. Matters of the natural should not bother us the way they bother a man that has not seen beyond the natural.

A minister can be so preoccupied with doing ministry that he does not cooperate with the things that make for growth. Paul told Timothy to take heed to himself and to the doctrine (1 Timothy 4:16). Doctrine is meant to be done. A minister must be engaged in doing doctrine; by so doing he would be able to save himself. Salvation comes by growth. If you are not growing, you are not being saved. We get saved by hearing and doing doctrine.

Ephesians 4:14-16 - That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

God loves His children, just like we do; but no one wants his children to remain children forever. So also, in the realm of the spirit there is agitation - they want children to grow up, they want men to arise.

A man in the flesh, who is not seeing the hope, will have a different kind of agitation; he keeps desiring to go up into a higher level of acquiring material possessions, this makes him to begin to feel inferior because he falls short of achievements in the natural. The things that should make us inferior are things like not being able to control your anger, or handle envy.

A believer of grass stature does not have the ability to rejoice with his brother when he prospers and be content with his current estate. Rather, he would say, ‘my God will surely do my own’. It is envy to say/think in such a manner; to do so portray lack of stature. It is a malicious statement and people will not be comfortable to share testimony with you because it brings you sorrow.

A man of stature will be comfortable to visit another brother who lives in a duplex, when his house is a single bedroom. Spirits do not respect big houses; they only put that standard there (in the natural) to distract souls from spiritual growth. The issue of building a house and becoming a landlord can become all that a person desires and prays for. People hardly pray to be free from envy. Somebody who is free from envy without a house of his own is better in the spirit than a person who owns a house and is envious (1 Timothy 6:6).

This is not a preaching of poverty. A man who lacks raising into Christ is poor. This emphasis is to help saints place premium on stature and godliness. It is a profane soul that will rate material possessions more important than godliness. The world has been arranged to make a man remain carnal, even if he is born again. Hence, we are being taught faith.

Faith is the victory that overcomes the world (1 John 5:4). The learning of Christ helps to beat the world; Christ is the antidote to the world. The learning of Christ takes your eyes away from the standards of this world; and changes your values from the seen to the unseen by faith (1 Corinthians 4:18).

You begin to see that the unseen realm is real and tangible and can relate with it. Spiritual things become tangible to you and then you begin to place value on them. After a while, not having natural things will not make you sorrowful.

This is not to say that praying to get material possessions is wrong; but at some levels, when God has granted you sufficient light to seeing beyond the natural, it is forbidden to allow the thought of natural attainment become your preoccupation and prayer emphasis. Jesus said, ‘foxes have holes, but the son of man has no where to lay His head’ (Matthew 8:20). In the realm we are being exposed to, we are being trained to disdain everything natural and earthly. You will not lack natural things as well, but you will not pursue them. While pursuing this vocation – the pursuit of Eternal Life, Jesus lacked nothing.

In fact, this is the secret to having all things. If you still chase natural things, they will run from you thereby keeping you chasing them because they want the commitment of your soul. Ignore them and press into God. God made all things. Those who seek Him are not foolish. Those seeking what He made are the foolish ones.

Those who want immortality must place natural things in their proper place (1 Timothy 6:8). Jesus stated it clearly in Matthew 11:7-8. By learning Christ, you grow, and you acquire life. You grow (change state and status) by obeying truth.

Romans 8:1-2 - There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Growth is associated with walk. You need stature to be free. It is stature that can beat sin and death. The aim of walking by the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus is to acquire stature.

Romans 8:13 - For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Living is walking. If you obey the flesh, you will die. To live is to appreciate, to grow up. You grow up by living. When you cooperate with the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, you will appreciate. There are laws that made up Christ - faith, hope and charity. A man perfect in Christ is one that has done charity very well. We have done faith and hope, we are now in the season of perfecting charity. There are some things that make up charity. The learning of Christ is a learning that is alien to our natural arrangements. Christ comes to change that arrangement by bringing another law – the law that made Him. A natural man will glory in some kind of things.

1 Peter 3:8-9 - Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

These are the kind of things we are to glory in. Railing is abuse, it is natural for flesh to retaliate when it is railed at, but charity is courteous. Charity does not behave itself unseemly (1 Corinthians 13:5). Unseemly behavior is not being courteous. When God wants to raise a man, He will instruct him to keep quiet when he is railed at.

He that strives for mastery is temperate in all things (1 Corinthians 9:25). To be temperate is to have self-control. Being able to refrain from rendering evil for evil is self-control. It is natural to render railing for railing but when you do otherwise, you are acquiring stature of Christ. It was said of Jesus who is our example, ‘who when He was reviled, reviled not’ (1 Peter 2:23).

These are the areas we are to seek to excel in, not in acquiring material possessions. You may not get perfect in one day; you may fall but rise up again. Keep focused on the standard – not rendering railing for railing. These are part of the laws that make up Christ.  Having anointing does not stop one from railing back; it is conscious agreement and alignment with the revelations and commandments of Christ that does so.

A man’s stature is rated by the way he responds to railings. Peter cut off the ear of the servant of the high priest when they came against Jesus; but Jesus acted otherwise, He healed the man’s ear; that is a man of stature (John 18:10; Luke 22:51). Jesus did not come to this level at once, He continued in obedience to get there. A man of stature is a man of compassion, judgement, understanding and discernment. By reason of learning, Jesus came to a stature of judging things from a realm beyond the natural.

Stature will show in the way a man handles life. A man who is always fretful and threatened is one lacking stature. ‘Grass’ is swayed by every and any doctrine (Ephesians 4:14). When a man has been raised by truth; heard and obeyed truth consistently, he can discern any teaching that is not in line with the frequency of truth. The essence of truth is to give you a raising and stature, and it comes by doing it (obedience).

We must continually mortify the deeds of the flesh so as to live (Romans 8:13). Living is growing and you must continue growing until you come to a state where you can hear the voice of the High Priest.

Hebrews 8:7-11 - For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

The best the Old Testament could produce was sons of men; the prophets were sons of men. Only the New Testament can produce sons of God; and that is because of its content. Knowledge is necessary for making a people.

Hebrews 7:26-28 - For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself. For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.

Jesus our High Priest became these entities listed here, He was not born with them. The word of oath is what the High Priest uses to minister to sons who would be consecrated forever. ‘Word of oath’ is the knowledge of God. Knowledge made Jesus the High Priest. It is from knowledge to knowledge that we are raised, here a little, there a little. The glorification of the Son comes by knowledge. Jesus learnt obedience by the things He suffered (Hebrews 5:8).

God gave the Son the knowledge of the Godhead. God enabled Jesus to have life in Himself (John 5:26). This was achieved by teaching Him the knowledge of life and knowledge of immortality. It was this same knowledge Paul craved (Philippians 3:8). The excellent knowledge is the word of oath, it is the knowledge of resurrection.
