BECON’22 Review
21st August, 2022
Pastor Ayorinde Fakunle
Hebrews 3:1
Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
To consider is to ponder upon; and when we ponder, both our minds and hearts are involved to see how we can be like what we are seeing.
Review Begins
Day 2 Morning Session 1 (Minister's Meeting)- Reverend Helen Oyegoke
Sis. Progress Oshakpor
The question ‘who is like God?’ is ageless; it has been a quest in God’s heart which He wanted to bring to fulfilment since the beginning. This question ‘who is like God?’ can also be likened to say ‘who can be configured like God?’ This question relates to the content of God being within us.
Ministers are meant to raise men into God’s image; that is the blueprint for ministers. They are to raise men who will do all the will of God. To do the will of God, such a man must come into perfect peace, not having any contention in doing God’s will; such that when the commandments come, that man grabs them with joy. What struck me in the Convention is the place of joy in obedience, that "I do not grumble when obeying. I want to be jumping at obedience and accepting it with joy, like a man who just won a jackpot!"; This is how we should approach commandments.
Hebrews 10:5-7
Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
Jesus’ “will” while on earth was to do all the will of the Father; that should also be our heart posture. Even if they will not be easy, our heart posture should be ‘Lord, I ask for grace to do all Your will’. The culture of Christ is to train us away from the life we learnt from our forefathers and adopt God’s own. If we do not align to those instructions, we will not grow even if we have been in the church for years, but may that not be our portion (Amen).
Mummy also spoke on image; if we are not raised into the image of God, we would be raised into the image of satan. If a Christ man does not run into everlasting life, he can get to the point where he slaps his wife. That shocked me- this means i have to keep running.
Ephesians 3:14-18
For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
We are supposed to comprehend with all saints, not that our mates (our brethren) are ahead while we are behind. Our hearts must be comprehending with the saints. No one must be at ease in Zion; we have to always pant for the Lord at all times and obey Him. We do not have any other profession; our profession is to be like God, may God help us. Amen.
Interpretation of Tongues 1
“I sent these words, I sent these words to you; I broke things down this much; I brought things home this much for your good, even for your good. For the sake of your prosperity in the light am I bringing things this down, I am breaking things down.”
“For you see, the things that are just spoken are instructions to all, they are instructions to all. For you see, where you are coming into is where person, expression of persons will be demanded, expression of the manner of person that you have come into, that you have become, even the manner of the man of charity, the man of peace, that man will be demanded."
"The life of that man, the kind of life, the manner of life of that man will be demanded in this school, in this class, that manner of life will be demanded; it will be called forth. And when it is called, it must not be lacking in all expressions, in all conversations amidst the saints. That life must not be lacking, for you see you are in a school where that life must never be lacking", saith the Spirit of the Lord.
Sis. Adeola Oluyede
“Thank You Jesus, You’re the man configured, so we can be saying these things.”
Interpretation of Tongues 2
“E wa ri Baba; come and see My Father, see My Father. I have come, I am here with you, I am here as the One who declares My Father; I am here as a God appointed to declare God. I am here as the God who has been appointed, who has been honoured by My God, that men may come to see My Father.”
“For you see, all that I have become, all that I am is that I might be able to display My Father, the person of My Father. You need to see the person of My Father, come see the person of My Father. My Father is here because I am here.”
Review Continues
In the tongue that came before Mummy spoke in the meeting, the Lord said that "He is speaking to us from His eternal house"; the Lord was bringing to us conversations from that eternal house (Deuteronomy 33:27).
The question ‘who is like God?’ means ‘Who is configured like God?’
John 1:18
No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
The eternal God, who no one has seen, has been declared by the only begotten Son in the bosom of the Father. The reason God ventured into creation is so that He can make man like Them (Genesis 1:26); the church was created for this purpose, and not to make us entertainers or entrepreneurs. Those may be extra curricular activities, but the main curriculum for building the church is that men can be like God. The reason for the fivefold ministry is to configure men like God (Eph. 4:11-13).
Satan has so blurred men’s vision to be oblivious of the main purpose of God. That is why men grumble when they hear that the reason God created us is to be like Him; they will ask questions like ‘do you mean we should not have anything on earth at all?’ Satan did this work.
Spirits are working in the atmosphere of the world.
Ephesians 2:1-2
And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
God is working in us through the Holy Ghost both to will and to do (Phil. 2:13); it is the Holy Ghost that creates that burning in our hearts, not ourselves; but there is another spirit working in the world, that is the spirit that works in the children of disobedience. Spirits have configured it that you either race after God or you become a child of disobedience. Automatically, evil exists, but we have to deliberately choose good. Spirits are involved in this world, and they want to force us to become beasts.
Genesis 1:26
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Genesis 2:7
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
God formed man to be a living soul, but that is not His bus stop; if we are to be made in His image and likeness, we have to be made quickening spirits.
Satan is not asking for our permission to obey him; he wants us to do disobedience by default, but the end of being a child of disobedience is perdition; to be a man of sin. If we choose life, we have to be deliberate because something is warring with that life that we say we choose. Sometimes, spirits influence us to not do charity; but they paint it to us as“I just do not feel like it”. We must therefore be deliberate about doing charity. The Holy Ghost persuades us to obey Him, but that adversary is not persuasive, he forces.
Let us also not say we cannot be like God; if we think so, how come men are racing unto perdition and it seems like all things are possible? Satan makes it sure that men can be so configured to the image of the dragon, but he sows doubt in our hearts when we say we will be like God- Why?
We are not created to be fashion icons or money bags.
Matthew 6:32
(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
The will of God is to give Him pleasure. The purpose of God for our lives is that we become “like God”; the express image of His person, the brightness of His glory
God created angels to serve man (Hebrews 1:14); this is just like Eliezer in Abraham’s house. After serving Abraham so well and having grown so much, another heir was introduced to the story later on who would inherit all that Abraham had; that is a high level of humility. That is what angels are like. They are eager to serve us and give us things that would make us better than they are. They give us things to make us better, but some of us do not receive it. That shocks them because if they had the opportunity, they would have grabbed it. May we not be resource wasters (Amen).
We do not have to hold on to words, we must be converted like little children. Little children do not hold words, they forget them almost immediately. May the Lord make us perfect in all these conversations (Amen).
Sis. Eniola Komolafe
I see those who I was once mates with, and I see that even if they have things around them, there is really nothing there. Believers' Convention was a manner of conversation shown to us; beyond the words, we could tangibly see the life. There was a deliberate calling for me in the Convention to become like a child, a nobody; where, for me to live I have to die. We must be without sense to enter this Kingdom (Matthew 18:3). To achieve this, mummy said we have to come to the place where nothing shakes us or destabilises us. The Lord is calling us to the place where we are established, and not even our emotions are governed by feelings. We do not live by feeling.
This journey is for the meek and lowly. In one of the tongues, the Lord said that "They are nobody; who is like Him is the most nobody". So, ‘Who is like God?’ that we are asking concerning is the Biggest Nobody; until we are no one, we cannot become Someone.
Jesus is meek; He is a man that can easily be despised. That does not mean we will be sluggish and totally ignorant; it is a working on the inside, where we do not defend ourselves or prove our worth. This is so much weight because it is a lot to become a nobody. We were not trained that way; in those days, after someone insults us, we dare not go back home without showing the child of whom we are.
2 Corinthians 12:7
And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
There is a way knowledge puffs up; but the Lord has excellent knowledge, and He is still not puffed up. This is often why dealings come to us. When knowledge comes to us, let us look at the work God wants to work in us; let us see the instructions in them, instead of gisting about it or posting those words on our status. How we find instructions that is for us is in taking note of the words that hit us and addressed us, and applying our hearts to them for to walk in them. Those words will not always remain in our heads, there is a time they would have to be practical.
If a minister has so much knowledge and no life, he would end up tearing down the church that he was supposed to be building. He ought to have let those words build a structure in him, such that even without speaking, people would see a life to emulate. What God wants to achieve is that at the end of the day, even God would say that "these ones are like Me".
When revelation comes to us, let us not just engage them by going on our whatsapp status, let us rather study and pray that those words become building blocks laid within us.
There is a way that we can despise some persons because of revelation. Reverend Kenneth Hagin had been trusting the Lord for a certain understanding for twenty years, but the understanding came through a man he could have despised. We can be tempted to say that ‘is it not just an opening prayer? I can use that time to attend to things I could not attend to while at home’; but as long as a person comes in the name of the Lord, there is a blessing there for us.
The problem of our life is to become like God, but our souls are not seeing it that way; but for us to be like God, we have to pay attention to the word. We will sit and learn, not just hear on site, but go back to those words and engage them with the desire and intention to become those things. God is not raising us to be revelation guys; He is raising us to be meek. A meek man has things, but he is still normal. Both meek and proud men have things, but the difference is how he carries those things. An abnormal person is one that is puffed up, and because of that, he will miss God. He expects God to be high and mighty, but in that mindset, he will miss God; that is what happened with the Jews.
Pastor Ayorinde Fakunle
The Lord is here, and we must not be unaware of it. May none of us escape the sword of the Lord. The Lord is emphasising on deliberateness; we are not just here to pass the time. We must address our souls to be deliberate. The fact that we are in the place where the word is being dispensed is not an automatic visa of how grown we are becoming. The saints may have been advancing, while you are still at the same place.
John 6:63
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
When the word comes to us, it comes as light, but that light is meant to proceed to become spirit and life. God is not trying to impress us with knowledge; for everything God sends forth, He expects a commensurate measure of life. May the Lord help us.
Sis Progress spoke of the place of charity in the gifts of the Spirit; giving tongues can be put under. We do not have to compete, saying that we also want to give word.
Interpretation of Tongues 3
“For you see , we want you wise, we want you to be wise; we don't want you foolish, we want you to be wise. For you see, the foolish, time will be against them."
"Time will be against the fools, time will be against them, we want you wise, we want you to understand time, we want you to understand that for everything the Lord is releasing to you, the Lord is bringing to you, they are time targeted, they are time bound."
"For you see being slack in the spirit is an indication of foolishness, we want you wise. Heaven wants you to be wise; even the wisdom of heaven is coming to you again that you may become wise people, a wise church, a wise congregation, wise saints. We want you wise, we want you to be wise", saith the Spirit of the Lord.
Interpretation of Tongues 4
I see a pronouncement, an announcement that “there is a lot upon you; portions are at stake; lots are at stake and many are coming, many many are coming, many many are coming."
"We know the estate of your soul when We brought you in first. We know your slowness in picking things; We saw the configurations, the formations of your soul when We began to bring you in. For you see there are many who are coming, who have better responding power, who have better responding ability."
"We are doing all to help you, we are doing all to succour you, we are doing all to help you. You are finding grace", saith the Lord, "you are finding grace to help; therefore, be wise, be wise, be wise", saith the Lord.
Day 2 Morning Session 2(Minister's Meeting)- Reverend Kayode Oyegoke
Bro Joshua Adeleye
Reverend began the meeting with Reverend Kenneth Hagin’s prophecy; and that was indicating that ministers are not meant to preach themselves.
In Hagin’s prophecy, two angels were conversing, asking how the times of the end would be, and then one replied ‘the Lord knoweth!’. That was when the Lord asked him to prophesy. Sometimes, the Lord creates an atmosphere around ministers of the gospel to bring certain thoughts; those thoughts may be by angelic help. To the angels, the message remains a question, but that is not how it would be to man- it would be an answer to man.
Luke 10:1-2
After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
Luke 10:17-20
And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
Luke 10:3
Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.
Luke 10:1
After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.
What all New Testament ministers should be after is the will of God to be achieved. Minster must be heaven conscious, they should be focused on the building of the flock. Their concern should not be about money, but the flock of God over whom the Holy Ghost has placed them as overseers (Acts 20:28).
Bro Joseph Adesanya
Some years ago, I was expecting the minister's meeting in convention to be strictly addressing ministers, but it addressed the congregation as a whole. I therefore realised that God is raising us all as ministers. As the man heading the church is called, the people of God are also being called of God,and He is calling them to be like Him. Those who He adds to the congregation are also partakers of that same calling; they receive the blessings of God through the sent man (the leader of that congregation) and still minister wherever they find themselves. What the Lord was communicating is that we are ministers in various dimensions; at work also, we are ministers. We should therefore see that what came for us is not only for men in the fivefold offices;we were all addressed.
In our day, the church has become a corporate assembly where men try to do business; but that is not how it ought to be.
Referring to Reverend Hagin’s prophecy at this juncture, Rev. Kayode said that there are certain men that have had such a strong walk with the Spirit, and so their words are so faithful to be held on to and run with. He said this in reference to Reverend Hagin’s prophecy that came through the ministry of angels. If ministers would achieve what God wants to do, we must acknowledge the ministry of angels and what God wants to work through them.
Fivefold ministers would have to lean on the Spirit to know what God is saying per time. They have to be attentive to that and then do what God is doing: if the Spirit speaks, they speak but if the Spirit pauses, they also pause. If they do not walk this way, the devil can capitalize on those lapses. If ministers can be in alignment with the Spirit, they would be able to disarm lucifer.
Hebrews 1:14
Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
Ministers should see ministry beyond an earthly one. They should not define the value of their work with natural things. In explaining this, he said that he would be afraid of a pastor if he has many members and is conveniently laughing, happy about how big his congregation is. What God wants is for ministers to become like Him and then carry men to become like Him. Ministers should not be carried away with the glory that comes with ministry; they must take heed to the word first for themselves and the for the saints.
1 Timothy 4:16
Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
The minister must use those words for his salvation. That is why ministers ought not to glory in the fact that they are ministers. The arrangement should be that as the minister is following on to know the Lord more, the flock are also following the minister to know the Lord more. The standard of our knowledge of the Lord should not be worldly; it should be by that of the angels. The service we are to render should be more than the angels; if God is using the angels to minister those things to us, it means that the yardstick of our service is by that of the angels.
Psalm 103:20
Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.
This is a service. Hence, if we are to be like God as ministers (be it in the fivefold or in the help ministries), this is the yardstick.
Psalm 103:21
Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.
As ministers, we must not have the mind to please men (Gal 1:10). The person that servants of God ought to please is not men but God, such that men can even be pleased in us pleasing God.
Proverbs 16:7
When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.
Our service to God must tally with the heavens. In ministering with the Lord, we must therefore check if our service tallies with what God has pitched; are we doing what God wants us to do that will bring pleasure to Him? (Heb. 8:2). The man at God’s right hand is the one who brings all pleasure to God (Ps. 16:11); and the man at His right hand is the man who is like God.
Lucifer was a being of God’s presence, the other angels like Michael and Gabriel (Luke 1:19) are beings of God's presence. Therefore, every minister must be a man of God’s presence. Cain was a man who was in God’s presence, but left it to build a city, same with Nimord; (Genesis 4:16) but the minister that will call men back to His presence must also be ministers of His presence.
Presence is in levels; there is milk presence, meat presence and strong meat presence.
1 Corinthians 2:9
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
In coming into presence, we would fight against spirits, because lucifer was once an angel of presence. He knows when men come into that presence, and so he wants to prevent them from doing so; but we as ministers must be conscious of being in His presence. If our allocation of presence at the moment is that of the Holy Ghost, we must make sure we do it well.
One other thing I learnt is that we must always minister by the Holy Ghost; if not it would not achieve anything, and satan can even take advantage of it to hurt hearts.
What fosters this presence is intercourse with the Holy Ghost; that is why we can fetch out of that presence whenever we have the opportunity to minister. Whenever men are ascending into the presence of God, he measures them up and tries to cut them down (Job 1:7).
Acts 6:5
And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:
Acts 7:55
But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
Lucifer saw this and wanted to cut him down. Steven was not even an apostle or a pastor, yet the devil was still after him. Likewise, as we are in the church, the devil still wants to cut us down; but how we escape this is in staying under and remaining in presence.
Interpretation of Tongues 5
I hear in my spirit, "It is in the volume of the Book; the measure of sonship, measures, different measures, calibrations is in the volume of the Book, calibrated in the volume of the Book and in the will that is noted in the book. For you see what the book contains is will, even structures and statures, strata of will."
"This is also the allocation of the measurement of life. Measurement of life is also contained in the volume of the book. Even as the will is being aligned with, life is being attained, opened at different times by different personalities even different servants that were raised by God."
"For you see there is that which Paul was appointed to open up and there is that which John was called to open up. For you see it is in the volume of the Book- your attainment."
"Measures of life is in the volume of the book, it is in the doing of the will. It is contained in the volume of the Book. For you see when the Son came and He says lo I come in the volume of the book to do your will, O God, He was measuring up the statures, measuring up the different measures and calibrations of life."
"It is in the volume of the Book, it is in the volume, it is in the Book, it is in the volume and that volume is in the book, is a book", saith the Lord.
Pastor Israel Adeyeye
We will be tested by every knowledge we get. The weight of what we are hearing must dawn on us; the concepts we are hearing (like immortality) are not just english words; even angels desire to look into these things (1 Pet. 1:12). We must labour to see that these things are worked in us; they are not cheap things. To know if this gospel is true, check the fruit it is bearing.
The end of the Christian journey is not earthly, and it is not after we die that we would come into it. We do not have to die to see the Lord (John 11:25). We have to do everything to enter into the true tabernacle.
Hebrews 8:1-2
Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
If it is pitched, it means that it can be moved: it can be moved into our hearts; we can become the sanctuary and the true tabernacle. We are to embrace the words coming to us; if we continue at it, we will become men of the sanctuary. This sanctuary is our Lord Jesus Christ. He is to minister this sanctuary and true tabernacle to us, but we cannot minister what we have not become (Obadiah 1:17). To be a minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle means a lot; how we know we are becoming them is by changing.
Heaven is the standard of the New Testament. We do not compare ourselves by the Old Testament; our comparison is with angels. This does not mean that those angels are how God would rate us, but they serve God.
Hebrews 1:14
Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
They do all that the Lord sends them to do accurately, with fear and trembling. They do everything in their order of perfection. However, our Lord Jesus Christ has a more excellent ministry than those angels (Hebrews 8:6).
Hebrews 1:6
And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
Jesus Christ grew through the outer court to the sanctuary and then to the true tabernacle. Our Lord Jesus has many crowns; that is why the angels worship Him.
1 Thessalonians 4:16
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Michael has a very significant role in the last days; he has a ministry to achieve and it is with the trumpet of God.The ministry of Michael is to detach men from the earth; those lights are trumpets that will cut us off from our iniquities. Hence, all that proceeds from our ministers when they are ministering are lights that are to detach us from earthliness.
The basic understanding that can destroy sin is to know that there is nothing here on this earth.
1 John 2:15
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
Galatians 1:4
Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
If we can understand and relinquish this world, our problem is solved. The goal of Michael is to do this in us; if we can be detached from this present world, perfection would be achieved.
Pastor Ayorinde Fakunle
Michael has a ministry to the Body.
Jude 1:9
Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
1 Thessalonians 4:16
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Let us go back to these messages so that we can have a broader view of them. It is very possible that we did not pick the things that were highlighted in these reviews. The essence of reviews is to bring a message from different sides; that way, we can see many sides that we ourselves may have not given so much attention to.
Do not be in a hurry to finish the messages; make sure that you hear the messages for your good, that you embody everything you are hearing. If the things you heard do not make a life in you, you have failed.
Prayer:
Lord, cause grace to abound unto us as a house to rightly appropriate light and measure up.
Hebrews 12:15
Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
Grace is the allocation of God's strength that comes when light comes to us.
Judas was with Jesus through the three and a half years; but those messages did not change his nature. Judas may have been able to explain those messages in detail; he may have had the language, but they did not conform to a life; but may these things become our life.
Prayer:
Lord, help us not to fail of the grace of God; help us to appropriate life for change.
Pastor Tosin Gabriel
It would be unfair for us to hear such heavy downloads at Believers' Convention and still await another bundle of speakings in another program. We ought to utilize these speakings well. May it not be that after hearing all we have heard, we still continue in the ways we have been walking. It is not an annual convention; we are meant to use the message and chew it down until we can use the words for living. If we do not do this, we are only fooling ourselves; but may we not be fools. How we would not be like fools is in us engaging the words spoken; and how they apply to us. If Reverend Kayode said that Michael can minister to our bodies, let us ask, how does he minister to my body? If he contended for Moses’ body, he could contend for our bodies too.
This review is not a waste of time; as the tongue said, God demands that we be wise this season. When we appear before God, God would ask us one question: "are you like Me?" Some men will appear before God, but they will be ignorant of the truth that they ought to be like Him; but that cannot be our excuse, because it will be too late for us to not know that we have been created to be like Him. it is a taboo to appear before God and not be like Him.
God is giving us things to make us like Him. Let us therefore engage these messages; we are ministers of ourselves first (1 Timothy 4:16). The answer to the question ‘who is like God?’ is in the hands of God. Inasmuch as it is in the hands of Jesus, when all men appear before Him, God is the One that will determine if a man is like Him or not.
Hebrews 5:5
So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.
God could look at Him on that day and see Himself fully in Him; that was why He would glorify Him.
Why we need the minister's teaching is so that we will know what we ought not to listen to.
Matthew 24:24
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
We should check what a ministry is pointing us toward; is it making us look more like Him or more like the world? We ought to hate this world; can we aspire to be the best in what we hate? We would not even want to stay there. Who would take pride in being the best in a public toilet? (Isaiah 30:22) Let us use this world to attain eternal life.
The New Testament is to make us better than this world, such that the world would not want to be compared with us because of how precious we are.
Hebrews 11:38
(Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
The world is ashamed to be identified with those men, yet they obtained not the promise (Hebrews 11:39).
Psalm 84:7
They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.
You are a company, but every person will stand to hear the Lord say ‘you look like Me’.
If He looks at you and He sees Himself in you, He will smile; that smile is the giving of eternal life.
God will come to the earth at a particular time; in that day, everyone will appear before Him (Revelations 20:11). We do not have all the time.
Prayer:
Lord, help us to gather materials of life, so that when we appear before You, we would look like You.
